    • Contrast Studies of the Urinary Tract

      In this lesson, we will discuss contrast studies of the urinary tract (including indications and different techniques), after which we will review some case studies and discuss interpretation of these images.

      By the end of this lesson you should be able to:

      • Compare the indications for intravenous urography, contrast cystography, and urethrography studies;
      • Describe how to prepare a patient for an intravenous urography and a retrograde contrast study;
      • Describe the techniques involved for bolus and infusion intravenous urography;
      • Describe the different techniques available for performing contrast cystography and urethrography;
      • Analyse the suitability of different contrast techniques for different clinical presentations;
      • Interpret urinary contrast study images.
